Ownership & Governance

The Alberta Research Council is wholly-owned by the Government of Alberta, reporting to the Ministry of Advanced Education and Technology. ARC operates under an independent Board of Directors. The board oversees the strategic business plan, the assessment of risk and the communication with stakeholders. It is also responsible for the selection and subsequent monitoring of the leadership of the president. The board is comprised of 9 members, the chair is appointed by the Minister of Advanced Education and Technology.
