Agglomeration and Feedstock Handling
By specialty modifying of solid particles, we add value to existing products, improve handling characteristics of bulk materials, or develop innovative products with specific desirable characteristics. This result is achieved by manipulation of small (milli, micro or nanosized) particles into large granules or onto surfaces.
We have the widest range of agglomeration equipment in bench-top and pilot scale equipment in Canada. Our specialty equipment includes:
- feed preparation including grinders, dryers, mixers and classifiers
- agglomeration including pelletizing, compaction, and extrusion
- product finishing including spheronizing, fluid bed drying and specialty coating
- product testing including bulk density, crushing strength, particle size distribution, moisture content, angle of repose, impact resistance, abrasion resistance, solubility, and dustiness
Some commonly agglomerated particles are fertilizers, solid fuels (such as wood pellets), animal feeds, sorbents, catalysts and filter media.
